Former Carlyle executive Ryan Selwood has been appointed chief investment officer, a newly created role, at private equity firm Bregal Investments.
As CIO, Mr. Selwood will provide direct investment, asset management and business development oversight, according to a Monday release.
Mr. Selwood will be based in New York and will report to Alain Carrier, Bregal's CEO, a spokesman for Bregal said by email.
Mr. Selwood most recently served as a partner and chief development officer at Carlyle Group, reporting directly to then CEO Kewsong Lee, the release noted.
Bregal manages more than €15 billion ($16.1 billion) in assets.
Carlyle has not yet replaced Mr. Selwood, a Carlyle spokeswoman said by email.
