Alain Carrier was named CEO of Bregal Investments, the company announced in a news release.
Effective Jan. 1, he will replace the two retiring co-CEOs, Steve Black and Quentin Van Doosselaer. Mr. Carrier will join the global private equity firm in mid-November to ensure a smooth transition.
Mr. Carrier was senior managing director and head of international at the C$519.6 billion ($410.6 billion) Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, Toronto, responsible for the company's international markets and offices. Geoffrey Rubin, senior managing director and chief investment strategist, will assume Mr. Carrier's responsibilities on an interim basis, a CPPIB spokesman confirmed in an email.
