Beata Kirr joined private equity firm Copia Group Monday as chief impact officer, the private equity firm's third employee, a news release said.
She is based in the firm's Chicago headquarters, said a spokesman for the firm, which was launched last year.
In her new role, Ms. Kirr is a member of Copia's investment committee and is responsible for "delivering a distinctive impact investing platform and establishing the company as a thought leader in impact private markets," according to the release.
The Copia Group provides capital solutions to privately held, lower middle market companies while driving impact at scale.
"We are excited to welcome Beata into the TCG family," said Shundrawn A. Thomas, founder and managing partner in the release, adding "she brings deep experience in alternatives to the table and embodies our values with her passion for empowering diverse investors and entrepreneurs."
Ms. Kirr's most recent role was co-head of investment and wealth strategies at Bernstein Private Wealth Management.
Because Copia is a "newly launched private investing firm," the company's spokesman said he could not comment on any of the firm's investment strategies until the investment funds are closed.
