Alex Done, former CIO of the New York City Retirement Systems, has joined private equity firm Platinum Equity as a managing director.
It is a new position and he is based in New York, a spokesman confirmed.
At Platinum Equity, Mr. Done is responsible for strategic planning, investor capital development and product development. He will also assist with Platinum's environmental, social and governance and diversity, equity and inclusion efforts.
Mr. Done left the $265.9 billion New York City Retirement Systems on Dec. 31 where he served as CIO since 2018. Before taking on the CIO role, he had been deputy CIO for private markets for the bureau of asset management. The five New York City pension funds are investors in Platinum's private equity funds.
