Max Messervy was named head of sustainable investment-Americas at Mercer, the firm said in a news release on Wednesday.
The position is new.
Based in Boston, Mr Messervy will be responsible for "sustainable investments for clients across North and South America" and will report to Jo Holden, global head of investment research, the firm said in the release.
"Max's appointment reflects a reorganization of Mercer's global sustainable investment team into a more regionally-focused structure," a spokeswoman for Mercer said by email.
Mr. Messervy joined Mercer in 2018 and was senior consultant in Mercer's U.S. sustainable investment team, "serving as a strategic adviser on sustainable investment strategies, climate change and impact investment approaches throughout investment processes," according to the release.
"We will be hiring for a U.S. sustainable investments leader," the spokeswoman said. In the interim, Mr. Messervy will continue to oversee U.S. sustainable investment client work, she said.
