Kees Verbaas has joined Robeco as global head of fundamental equity, based in Rotterdam, Netherlands.
Mr. Verbaas replaces Fabiana Fedeli who left the company last year, a spokesman said. She was appointed CIO, equities at M&G last year.
Mr. Verbaas reports to Mark van der Kroft, CIO fundamental and quant equity. Mr. Verbaas oversees the global equity, emerging markets, Chinese equity and Asia-Pacific equity teams. The total AUM of the teams was not available. Robeco runs €200 billion ($200.8 billion) in assets under management.
The appointment marks Mr. Verbaas' return to Robeco — he worked at the firm in 2011 as a client portfolio manager for the emerging markets equity team.
"He brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and expertise that will be a great benefit to Robeco and our fundamental equity teams," Mr. van der Kroft said in a news release.
Mr. Verbaas was CIO at manager Altis Investment Management. Executives could not be reached for comment and information on any replacement.
