Toshiyuki Murasawa has been named the head of Brown Advisory's newly opened Japan office in Tokyo.
In this new role, Mr. Murasawa will "capitalize on his local knowledge to enhance the service Brown Advisory provides to its clients and help to further grow" the Asia-Pacific business, a Tuesday release said.
Mr. Murasawa will report to Walter Beckett, head of Asia-Pacific, who is based in Singapore.
Mr. Murasawa was formerly at Credit Suisse Asset Management.
"The Tokyo office highlights our full commitment to a growing client base in the APAC region," said Logie Fitzwilliams, head of international business and global head of sales at Brown Advisory, in the release. "Over the last few years, we've seen strong inflows from local investors."
A spokesman for Credit Suisse declined by email to comment on Mr. Murasawa's replacement or his former role.
Brown Advisory oversees $130.7 billion in client assets.
