Jenny Zeng will join Allianz Global Investors in Hong Kong in early January as CIO, Asia fixed income, a spokeswoman said.
Ms. Zeng will replace David Tan, who launched AGI's fixed-income business in the region a decade ago, building up its assets under management to roughly $6 billion, according to a news release.
Mr. Tan will "take a break from asset management from the end of January," the news release said. He couldn't immediately be reached for comment.
Ms. Zeng was co-head of Asian fixed income at AllianceBernstein as well as responsible officer for the firm's Hong Kong office. An AllianceBernstein spokesman couldn't immediately be reached for comment.
Allianz Global Investors had €521 billion ($507 billion) in assets under management as of Sept. 30.
