KKR & Co. closed its latest fund, the $8 billion KKR European Fund VI, which will invest in companies, primarily in the developed economies of Western Europe, a news release said.
KKR's sixth European private equity fund is larger than its predecessor fund, KKR European Fund V, which closed with €5.8 billion ($6.3 billion) in 2019.
KKR declined to disclose the current fund's fundraising target or hard cap, spokesman Alastair Elwen said in an email.
Investors in the fund include the $181.6 billion Washington State Investment Board, Olympia, and $123.6 billion Minnesota State Board of Investment, St. Paul.
