Brett Wright, a former Macquarie Group executive, has joined alternative asset manager AXS Investments as managing director and head of distribution, an AXS spokesman confirmed Thursday.
Founded in 2018, AXS managed a total of $1.6 billion as of Feb. 28, spread across both mutual funds and ETFs, the spokesman said. AXS was the first firm to offer single-stock ETFs in the U.S., he added.
"We are delighted Brett has joined AXS Investments to lead our distribution efforts as we continue the rapid growth of our product lineup and our assets under management," Greg Bassuk, CEO of AXS Investments, said in a news release issued Thursday.
Previously, Mr. Wright spent more than a decade in senior management roles at Macquarie, the AXS spokesman said. Most recently, he was head of client solutions group Americas for Macquarie, a trustee and chief executive officer of Optimum Fund Trust, and a member of the firm's executive committee, the release said.
A spokesman for Macquarie, a global financial services company whose asset management unit managed more than $542 billion as of Dec. 31, declined to comment.
