James Gelfand has been appointed CEO of the ERISA Industry Committee, Washington, replacing Annette Guarisco Fildes, who has retired, the trade group announced Thursday.
Mr. Gelfand will retain his title as president and Ms. Guarisco Fildes will remain an adviser to ERIC.
"Under Annette's leadership, ERIC has successfully increased health care affordability and transparency, improved and expanded retirement plan options, and worked to simplify challenges related to state paid leave policies," Mr. Gelfand said in a news release.
Ms. Fildes joined ERIC as CEO in January 2015. "With so many players seeking the attention of policymakers, ERIC's voice is more critical than ever advocating exclusively for the interests of large employers that sponsor benefit plans for their nationwide workforces on the federal, state, and local levels," she said in the news release.
Since 2016, Mr. Gelfand served as ERIC's senior vice president and then executive vice president before becoming president in 2022.
