Justin Arter will retire as CEO at Cbus Super, Melbourne, in May, following the completion of the super fund's second merger.
Kristian Fok, CIO, has been appointed interim CEO as the super fund "considers its approach to the appointment of a new CEO," a statement said Thursday.
Mr. Arter has been CEO since July 2020. Under his leadership, the super fund has secured a merger with Media Super, Melbourne, which concluded in April last year, and is in the process of completing a second merger with the Energy Industries Superannuation Scheme, Sydney, which will conclude in May. The super fund has A$73 billion ($48.1 billion). EISS had A$5.3 billion in assets as of June 30.
Mr. Arter will leave the super fund as it embarks on the next stage of its growth plan, which is focused on organic growth and member retention, according to the statement.
