P&I announces 2023 Eddy Award winners

Fifty-seven education and communication plans were honored Tuesday at Pensions & Investments' 2023 Eddy Awards held in Orlando, Fla., as part of P&I's annual Defined Contribution East Conference.

This year's competition featured awards in six categories: special projects, financial wellness, ongoing investment education, conversions/403(b) consolidations, plan transitions and pre-retirement preparation.

First place winners (and their service providers) in each category are listed below, with the full list of winners online.

For corporate plans with fewer than 1,000 participants, there was a tie between Muncie Power Products (OneAmerica) and Frankenmuth Insurance (Empower Retirement).

DTE Energy (Empower Retirement) won first place in the corporate category for plans with more than 5,000 participants.

Trek Bicycle (Transamerica Retirement Solutions) placed first in the corporate category for plans with 1,000 to 5,000 participants.

The University of Texas at Dallas (Lincoln Financial Group) finished first in the not-for-profit/other category for plans with more than 5,000 participants.

Employees Retirement System of Texas (Empower Retirement) captured first place among public plans with more than 5,000 participants.

T. Rowe Price placed first among service provider peers in the special projects category for generic education campaigns.

Steel Dynamics (John Hancock Retirement Plan Services) placed first in the category for corporate plans with more than 5,000 participants.

Dawn Food Products (Empower Retirement) was the first-place finisher for corporate plans with 1,000 to 5,000 participants.

Aspirus (Francis Investment Counsel) placed first among not-for-profit/other plans with more than 5,000 participants.

Brown University was the winner in the not-for-profit/other plans category for 1,000 to 5,000 participants.

The State of Nevada Public Employees' Deferred Compensation Program (Voya Financial) took first place among public plans with more than 5,000 participants.

Betterment At Work was the leader among service providers conducting generic campaigns.

ADP TotalSource (Voya Financial) captured first place for corporate plans with more than 5,000 participants.

MaineHealth (Lincoln Financial Group) achieved the top score among not-for-profit/other plans with more than 5,000 participants.

The County of San Diego Treasurer-Tax Collector's Office (Nationwide Retirement Solutions) placed first among public plans with more than 5,000 participants.

John Hancock Retirement Plan Services took top honors among service providers conducting generic campaigns.

Johns Hopkins University (TIAA-CREF) placed first in the not-for-profit/other category with plans having more than 5,000 participants.

McLaren Health Care (Empower Retirement) won the not-for-profit/other category for plans with 1,000 to 5,000 participants.

Indiana University Health (Empower Retirement) placed first in the not-for-profit/other category.

CBIZ (Empower Retirement) and Danone (Transamerica Retirement Solutions) tied for first place in the corporate category.

Gentinge (John Hancock Retirement Plan Services) won the corporate category.

John Hancock Retirement Plan Services placed first among service-provider peers in the generic education campaign category.
