Carlos Cruz has joined alternative asset manager HarbourView Equity Partners as managing director and head of capital markets.
Mr. Cruz assumes a newly created position, a spokesman for the firm said by email.
Mr. Cruz was formerly at Fifth Third Bank, where he served as an executive director in the technology, media and telecommunications group, said a Wednesday release.
Mr. Cruz reports to founder and CEO Sherrese Clarke Soares.
Based in Newark, N.J, HarbourView is focused on investment opportunities in the entertainment and media space and has about $1.3 billion in assets under management.
