David Bluff will join Future Fund, Melbourne, as head of private equity, according to a statement by the Australian sovereign wealth fund.
Mr. Bluff will join Future Fund in July, a spokesman confirmed. Future Fund managed A$243 billion ($165 billion) in assets as of Dec. 31.
He will lead the private equity team and report to Alicia Gregory, who has been acting head of the team since 2021 when she was promoted to deputy chief investment officer, the statement wrote. Ms. Gregory was head of private equity at the wealth fund between 2019 and her promotion.
Mr. Bluff was a partner and managing director at The Carlyle Group in Sydney. He had worked at the firm for 14 years. Industry veteran Geoff Hutchinson was appointed his replacement, a Carlyle spokeswoman said. He started in his role as managing director and head of private equity in Australia and New Zealand in March, she said.
Carlyle had $373 billion in assets under management as of Dec. 31.
